Training Schedule


February is Sweetheart month, don’t forget valentine’s day!!!
 
We have several mandatory classes this month, reminder if you are going to miss a night then look for it to be offered at another date and location. We have one more month in this quarter and may offer a few next month.
 
EMR RENEWAL – reminder for ALL the EMR’s in the district this is your recert year. We will work on getting hours printed, check your records to see what you need. February 17 Lyons Fire will be hosting a day of EMS hours geared towards EMR’s, just show up and it is a working lunch so go prepared. We will also be hosting some classes on drill night so watch the schedule. Even though we no longer use TargetSolutions you can go the OHD website and watch recorded classes for hours. As soon as we get information on the renewal process we will let everyone know. To renewal as a group (district pay for) everyone has to be done by June 1, 2024 or you pay a late fee, yes YOU pay the late fee.
 
Stayton PD will be here this Thursday for association open meeting night to talk about situational awareness, also snacks provided by Company A.
 
I sent out information on wildland classes we are hosting, S-290 and S-230 for wildland engine boss.
 
Academy is going on, thank you to the Captain Kurt Hueller and Eng Doug Smith and assistant helpers for the weekend we hosted. There are many other opportunities to help if interested.
 
MARK YOUR CALENDARS - Banquet is scheduled for March 23rd, 2024 at Regis High School.
 
We held the annual officer retreat in January and had a lot of good discussions and input, we will share what was accomplished when we compile our notes.
 
We will be posting the job announcement for Rhonda’s position on Feb. 1, you can direct people to the website for application information. Start date March 18th.
 
We are finalizing the job description for FF/EMT/Maintenance position, expect to open March 1, 2024 with an anticipated start date of May 1.
 
We are in the early stages of applying for AFG grant, we are looking at an engine or master tender, trying to determine which one we have the best shot of being rewarded.
 
Thanks for all the efforts during the snow and ice, we made it without injuries or damage.
