Single Chirp = Battery, Replace with the same kind of battery or the entire alarm.
 

Continuing Chirps = End of Life, Replace the entire smoke alarm.

Check the back of your alarm for information on beep and chirp patterns as well as the date of manufacture and the type of battery recommended for your alarm.
