SFD Announces the Passing of Ret. Chief Tegen

Chief Ron Tegen

It is with deep sadness the Stayton Fire District informs the friends and State of Oregon Fire Service of the passing of retired Chief Ron Tegen at his home on September 5^th. Chief Tegen provided 42 years of dedicated service to the District, with 29 years as the Fire Chief, he will be deeply missed.
 
Chief Tegen leaves the district with many accomplishments, one being the creator of our district motto “Volunteer Service with Pride”.
 
A fire service memorial and apparatus procession will be held on Saturday, September 18^th, 2 PM at Stayton Fire District main station. A team of emergency services personnel is being assembled at this time to plan the memorial, more details to be released in the future.
