Hwy 22 MVA 10-11-2016This afternoon Stayton Fire responded to a motor vehicle accident on HWY 22, Mile Post 22 near Mehama. Upon arrival crews found two vehicles in a head on accident. Additional units were requested from nearby agencies to assist with patient care and patient extrication using the Jaws of Life. A total of 5 patients were transported. 2 by air ambulance to Portland hospitals, 3 patients were taken to Santiam Hospital in Stayton. Additional agencies on scene were Lyons Ambulance, assisted by Lyons Fire, Sublimity Fire, Santiam Ambulance, OSP, and ODOT. Reach Air Ambulance and Life Flight were the transporting air ambulances. HWY 22 has reopened and all units have cleared from the scene.
