Crews have been working hard to get the new Rescue 80 into service. At the last drill, everyone who attended drill played a role in determining where the equipment from the old rescue will fit into the new rescue. This took about 45 minutes to accomplish as several good ideas and theories played out. In the end, we found a home for everything and documented its new placement. In addition to equipment placement, new compartment mats have been installed, as well as additional lights, radios and a complete system test was performed. After its long drive from Florida to home, we also changed the oil, did a system fluid and mechanical check, and shakedown of vehicle. Some additional USB ports were added and we are on track to having our rescue in service on November 1st.
District rated engineers will be going over the rescue and will all take drive tests to ensure they are trained on its operation and are ready to respond. So we are right on track!
