Monday afternoon Stayton Fire District sent an engine as part of a Marion County Strike Team of engines for State conflagration to Ashland Oregon for the Siskiyou Fire. The Marion County Strike Team Lead by Salem FD BC Bob Davis arrived in Ashland around 10 PM Monday night, rested over night and went to the fire line Tuesday morning to patrol residential neighborhoods. The district sent Engine 82 (from Mehama) with operator Lt. Dan Houston, officer Capt. Sherry Bensema, FF’s Barbara Nelson and Derek Gilbert. Derek drove Squad 81 pulling the county conflagration trailer.
Jay Alley spoke with the crew today at about 3:30 PM, they were assigned to day shift to patrol of the residential area for hot spots. The fire is contained at 153 acres.

The crew indicated possible demobilization Wednesday morning.
