It took 40 firefighters about 45 minutes to control the fire. Assisting the Stayton Fire District were Sublimity and Aumsville Fire Districts.
No injuries to the occupants, dog or firefighters.
The cause of the fire was investigated by Marion/Polk Fire Investigation Team and was determined accidental and caused by electrical wiring.
The occupants were insured and currently staying with family. Red Cross has responded to assist the family.
Estimated loss is $250,000 dollars to the house and contents, with additional damage to 3 vehicles in the drive way, 2 motorcycles and heat damage to a neighboring house.
