Annual Hose TestingWith all of the thousands of feet of firehose on our rigs throughout our district, people sometimes wonder how we test it to make sure its ready when needed. Once a year we go through every foot of hose to make sure its safe to use. So who do we call? The folks at National Hose Testing Specialities. They brought their hose testing trailer and are going through our trucks one at a time by pulling every line of hose and charging it to a specific pressure for a specific amount of time. If the hose maintains it's integrity, it passes. Any hose that fails is pulled out of service for repair or replacement. Here are some pics of the work in progress.
