Fill the Boot Raises $3500

Fill the Boot 2009
On Saturday April 25th Stayton Fire District joined forces with the Muscular Dystrophy Association to raise money for Jerry’s Kids. Over 20 volunteers stood at the corner of 1st and Washington, and with the help of an amazingly generous Stayton Community raised $3500.

The money was being specifically raised to send kids to the MDA summer camp where kids with neuromuscular diseases can have the opportunity to participate in the same activities as kids without disease. It costs the MDA $800 per camper for this opportunity, and we set our goal prior to the event of raising $2400 to send three kids to camp.

Helping Jerry's Kids
Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated volunteers and an extremely generous community, we are able to send four kids to camp instead of three. In addition to our volunteers and the community, we would also like to thank the MDA for their amazing support! It was a fun day for all involved, and we look forward to doing it again next year!
