2008 Annual Awards Banquet -
A Tribute to Service
Volunteers and guests enjoyed a great dinner and a little Rock ’n Roll at the 1950’s theme awards banquet held on March 21.
After the Year in Review slideshow, Chief Carriger presented the years of service awards. Five Year awards went to Shawn Forsythe, Kurt Hueller and Beth Gregson. Seven Year awards went to Scott Vigil, Leon Grumbo, Barbara Nelson, Matt Riordan and Kelly Oliver. John Lackner received his Ten Year award. Fifteen Years of service awards were presented to Sherry Bensema, Troy Gulstrom, Gene Coles, and Ron Bemrose. Bonnie Reid was recognized for Twenty-five Years of service and George Crosiar for Thirty-five Years. Chief Tegen appeared a little baffled by his Forty Years of service "plastic beach bucket" but got over it quick enough when he found the trip to the coast for himself and Rosie. In all, there were two hundred and twenty years of service represented that night! What a testament to the dedication of our volunteers!
Length of Service awards for volunteers that resigned in 2008 went to Brian Classen (11 years) and Ron Bemrose (15 years).
The coveted District Awards went to the following recipients:
Support Person of the Year: Deanna Classen
Volunteer Service with Pride: Bonnie Reid & Sandy Johnson
Officer of the Year: Doug Kintz
Medic of the Year: Kurt Hueller
Firefighter of the Year: Frank Ehrmantraut
We have such a great group of volunteers that are so deserving of the honors they received. Well done everyone!
