2013 Ryan Walker Scholarship Winners

Please help us congratulate Trent Tegen and Andrew Wagner for each being awarded a $1000.00 scholarship towards their continued education at Chemeketa Community College. Both Trent and Andrew are Resident Volunteers who work 24/48 hour shifts at the Stayton station, while attending Chemeketa Community College as fulltime students.

The Ryan Walker Scholarship was established in memory of Ryan walker, a U.S. Army medic, who died January 5, 2006. Ryan was killed in Baghdad, Iraq while rushing to give aid to soldiers injured by an IED, when a second IED detonated near him.

Ryan served the Stayton Fire District as a Resident Volunteer while attending Chemeketa Community College to obtain his Fire Protection Degree.
