The Seattle Stair Climb Challenge and the Columbia Center tower are but a distant memory, until next year. There were 1500 firefighters at this year’s event to make it the largest ever; the camaraderie shared by this many firefighters coming together for the same cause makes this a special event that we will be going back to for as long as we can climb!
The Stayton Stair Climb Team: Scott Mullen, Ruben Sisto, Derek Gilbert, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Scott Vigil, Brennan Baker and Frank Ehrmantraut all improved their times from last year, that is except Frank, this was his first climb but as he stated not his last! We also improved our team ranking this year going from 130th last year to 109th this year out of 190 teams. The team also raised and donated a total of $2,000 through this event for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. I’m sure we’re all going to take a well deserved break but will have to start training for next year’s event soon.
We would like to thank everyone for your support of the team and the donations to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. A special thanks to AC Alley and Taunie Alley for being our bottle changers on the 40th floor. For now, we’re all waiting for next year!
