It starts with donation barrels placed at local businesses for toy donation drop offs. Then the Santa Cruise-In is on the first Saturday in December.
This year’s Cruise-In saw a record number of entries, 233 show cars! New unwrapped toys were donated by those entering the show. During the show the Volunteer Firefighters served breakfast to over 556 people. In addition to the donated toys, the event raised $4397 which was used to help purchase more toys for the 490 requests submitted this year.
Volunteers spent hours sorting and bagging toys before the give-away day when family members arrived to pick up their bags of toys.
Coordinator Greg Peevy would like to thank the Stayton Resource Center, all those who donated toys and/or funds, sponsored and organized events, volunteered to sort, bag, or shop for toys, or helped in any way with this year’s program. Many families enjoyed the benefits of your generosity.
