Dan Houston promoted to Captain

Dan Houston Promotion

Please help us congratulate Dan Houston who was recently promoted to Captain. Dan started volunteering at the Stayton Fire District in January of 1987 at the Mehama Station. Dan and Laura moved into Stayton in 1991 and continued to provide the District with hard work and dedication at the Stayton Station.

In June of 2001 he was promoted to Lieutenant. Over the years, Dan has received numerous awards from the District for his efforts, some of which include Rookie of the Year, Firefighter of the Year, Officer of the Year, and most recently at this year's awards banquet Dan was awarded the Volunteer Service with Pride Award.  

Dan holds numerous fire certifications as well, some of which include Driver, Pumper Operator, Aerial Operator, Firefighter I&II, First Responder Operations and EMT-Basic.
