Well it’s that time of year again and the Stayton Fire District Firefighter Stairclimb Team is looking forward to climbing 69 floors (not) of the Columbia Center in Seattle in full gear to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. We have been training very hard to make sure we are in shape, after last year I think we all had an eye opening experience and are better prepared this year, we’ll see. The event is March 8th so we will be departing on the 7th so we can get to Seattle early and have our traditional pre-race dinner.
Our fund raising efforts have declined this year and I’ll blame it on the economy like everyone else. I am asking for funds to help send our team to this event with as little out of pocket expense as possible.
